I am Johan. I write stories that are set largely on northern Öland, the island of my childhood. My first novel, Echoes from the Dead (originally published in Sweden as Skumtimmen) is an autumnal novel and is therefore quite dark. The follow up novel, The Darkest Room (published in Sweden as Nattfåk), is set during winter and is possibly even darker. The goal was to write a novel for each of Öland's seasons - an Öland quartet where the weather and the atmosphere of the landscape affect the characters of the story.

The summer novel might be called ALVARGRIMMA or SjÖMANSVÅD or some other local expression and will probably be set in the little fishing village of Stenvik, which from around midsummer for a month onwards is filled to the brim by campers and holiday home owners.
