ÅLUDDEN

The mysterious lighthouse in The Darkest Room is located on the east coast of Öland. The East coast is green and beautiful but dangerous and here, many ships have ended up too close to land and been smashed by the waves over the years. If you want to visit a real lighthouse on Öland, there are many to choose from. On the North Cape there is the light house L�nge Erik, which is rumoured to be haunted. About 20 odd miles south we have Högby light house (a private area but visits are often allowed during the daytime) and even further down in G�rdl�sa we have the beautiful Kappeludden light house.
