BORGHOLM

Borgholm is the only town on Öland, both in real life and in my books. It's a popular summer town, with Borgholm castle and Soliden (the summer residence of the Royal Family) as two of the most popular attractions. In Echoes from the Dead, Julia and Gerlof Davidsson are visiting the harbour in Borgholm which used to be full of ships but nowadays you'll only find pleasure boats there. In The Darkest Room, one of the main characters lives in Borgholm where, one late night, he gets a visit from two strange people.
